Com uma volta aos holofotes da música extremamente bem sucedida através de seu disco “The 20/20 Experience”, Justin Timberlake é agraciado com 6 indicações ao VMA deste ano, empatando na liderança com Macklemore, que emplacou nas paradas de todo o mundo  com “Thrift Shop”, “Can’t Hold Us” e “Same Love”, parcerias com o produtor Ryan Lewis.

Na lista de indicados para a premiação da emissora americana também vemos, entre outros, Kelly Clarkson, Beyoncé, Lana Del Rey, Yeah Yeah Yeahs e as cantoras que estão trilhando seus caminhos pós-Disney: Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato e Miley Cyrus.
